- use strict permissions - run on Ubuntu Noble - skip using bourne shell and tmpfs, with questionable performance benefit - simplify syntax with `<(command)` substitutions - update Java version to run validator with - revert to previous single validator call, as the bug responsible for this split has been fixed: validator/validator#1667
