How to build the akhq.jar locally

Hello,

I'm trying to build the akhq.jar locally, but I did not suceed so far. I ran the docker-compose-dev.yml file to bring up the dev environment, but when I log into the container akhq and run ./gradlew shadowJar, it starts to do things, but finally fails with this error:

I do not understand the permission denied error. I'm running the command inside the container as root and when I try to create a file in the target directory, it gives me no error.

Is this the right way to create my own jar or am I completely on the wrong way?

I'm trying to create my own jar to do some more investigation for #1451

The best is to do ./gradlew shadowJar on your local machine (not in the docker env), and the jar will be located on build/libs/akhq.jar

Thank you for quick response, this is nice!

1. Using centos 7 and java -version 18
2. Please see attachment for error
3. ./gradlew build is command line to build the akhq project

I think centos is too old to be able to build the frontend, you should use a centos 8 at least I think

ah; thank you, unfortunately the program is still using centos 7, and no plan to upgrade.
is there some other suggestion that can be build jar successfully. ?

you don't need to build a on the final server, built the jar on your local machine for example and just upload it ?
