Building nginx-unzip-module for your curent nginx version

If you want to use nginx-unzip-module with your existing version of nginx you will need to build this module.

Check Nginx version

nginx -v

nginx version: nginx/1.12.2

Download same nginx version

wget http://nginx.org/download/nginx-1.12.2.tar.gz
tar -xzvf nginx-1.12.2.tar.gz

Install missing package

sudo yum install -y libxml2 libxml2-devel gd-devel
sudo yum install -y GeoIP-data GeoIP-devel GeoIP
sudo yum install -y gperftools-devel gperftools-libs gperftools
sudo yum install -y perl-ExtUtils-Embed
sudo yum install -y libxslt-devel libxslt
sudo yum install -y redhat-rpm-config
sudo yum install -y openssl-libs openssl-devel libssl-dev
sudo yum install -y pcre-devel pcre2-devel git ftp nginx-all-modules
sudo yum install -y zip unzip gcc make libzip libzip-devel
sudo yum install -y openssl-libs openssl-devel gcc zlib-devel pcre-devel pcre2-devel

Prepare for compilation

You need to run "./configure" with "nginx-unzip-module". it is a bit tricky. You need to alter nginx configuration used to build nginx on your system. You will need to run "nginx -V" before.

You will need to add --add-dynamic-module=../nginx-unzip-module/ to the end.

Build

Ypu will just need to run: make modules

Install

sudo cp objs/ngx_http_unzip_module.so /usr/lib64/nginx/modules/
echo 'load_module "/usr/lib64/nginx/modules/ngx_http_unzip_module.so";' > /usr/share/nginx/modules/mod-http-unzip.conf

Now you need to alter nginx.conf file as described in README.md
