Option: Always show status bar navigation bars

Modern phone have more than enough vertical real estate. A significant portion is just white space.

I would like to always show the bars, please.

try the new page types (settings -> page type) and choose the pages for larger screens, the whitespace would go away. not sure about making these always appear tbh though, since the info is already on the screen anyway.

No no, I think you misunderstood me :)

I don't mind the whitespace much. I just want to always see the bars to see if I have important notifications, tell the time, be able to quickly go back (without having to do the annoying swipe from the edge).
