Hi there,
I get these _quarto_internal_scss_error.scss files on quarto v1.7.6 along with this warning when rendering slides with my own scss-file:

    at Parser.parse_rule (file:///opt/quarto/bin/quarto.js:49427:28)
    at Parser.parse_node (file:///opt/quarto/bin/quarto.js:49247:59)
    at Parser.parse_stylesheet (file:///opt/quarto/bin/quarto.js:49179:31)
The resulting CSS file will not have SCSS color variables exported as CSS.
This is likely a Quarto bug.
Please consider reporting it at https://github.com/quarto-dev/quarto-cli,
along with the _quarto_internal_scss_error.scss file that can be found in the current working directory.

I cannot see to have any unclosed delimiters or such in my HSNR.scss.... hmmm.. maybe I am just blind... ;)

Thanks for the report! This is an overactive message we added because we're using an SCSS parser that
isn't quite robust enough. In this case, that parser doesn't like the two repeated semi-colons you have in the .author rule, on line 30.

To be clear - this really is a Quarto bug, because it's a bug on that parser. Your code would have still worked fine, but that specific 1.6 feature doesn't get applied in that case (and the message is annoying). We'll try to fix this before 1.7 is out.

For what's worth, I also have found that formatting the SCSS file with prettier tends to resolve these issues.
