VLAN Filter based on Location in Nautobot v1.6.x

Hello everyone

Just a quick question. I need to filter the available vlans on a per floor basis. We have global site vlans and also some vlans per floor that should only be available for selection on device interfaces (access / trunk ports) that are on a specific floor. The specific documentation section is identical for 1.6.x and 2.x and states:

To locate network information more precisely than a Site defines, you can define a hierarchy of Locations within each Site. Data objects such as devices, prefixes, VLAN groups, etc. can thus be mapped or assigned to a specific building, wing, floor, room, etc. as appropriate to your needs.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work with Nautobot 1.6.17. VLANs or VLAN groups assigned to a floor can be selected on devices that don't belong to that floor. It seems that the filter only works for the site. As long as a device is part of the same site, the VLAN is available for selection.

This behaviour is different with Nautobot 2.2.x and works as expected. Only the VLANs on the specific floor or globally available VLANs are shown in the drop down.
