What is the bug?
I have encountered an issue in OpenSearch Dashboards v2.15.0 while using Log Explorer with PPL queries. The column configurations reset unexpectedly when switching between views or reloading the page.

A detailed discussion about this issue can be found in the OpenSearch forum here:
https://forum.opensearch.org/t/issue-with-columns-resetting-in-log-explorer-ppl-on-opensearch-dashboards-v2-15-0/22748

This issue disrupts the workflow as users lose their preferred column settings, requiring manual reconfiguration frequently.

How can one reproduce the bug?
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Open OpenSearch Dashboards v2.15.0.
Go to Log Explorer and configure custom columns in a PPL query.
Switch views or refresh the page.
Observe that the column configurations are reset to the default state.

What is the expected behavior?
Columns should retain their configurations when switching views or reloading the page.

Actual behavior
The column configurations reset to default unexpectedly.

What is your host/environment?
OpenSearch Dashboard : v2.15.0
OpenSearch Cluster : OpenSearch Dashboards indicates compatibility with version 7.10.2 (AWS OpenSearch Service).
Browser : Google Chrome 131.0.6778.19 (Official Build) (64-bit)
