Help with restore-osc-bindings for previous settings. #15662
-
I'm on Windows 10 and Version - mpv-x86_64-20250105-git-996e58a.7z I've looked up the issue before with wanting to go back to previous settings before updating and everyone who answers the question just posts this link with restore-osc-bindings, https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/blob/master/etc/restore-osc-bindings.conf Sadly I am very stupid and need additional help, I keep trying to set up the osc.conf file but I see no results. I'm not sure if I'm doing it incorrectly or just putting it in the wrong spot, the instructions say to place it in I also use a portable_config folder in the directory so I don't know if that has an effect, I would like to ideally keep MPV portable with this config included but at this rate I'd like to just know how to get it working in the first place, thank you for your time I appreciate any help with my slowness. I pasted the site content exactly like this in the conf file; restore playlist_osd=yes behaviorplaylist_prev_mbtn_left_command=playlist-prev; show-text ${playlist} 3000 restore chapter_osd=yes behaviorchapter_prev_mbtn_left_command=no-osd add chapter -1; show-text ${chapter-list} 3000 restore behavior before select.lua usageplaylist_prev_mbtn_right_command=show-text ${playlist} 3000 title=${media-title} chapter_prev_mbtn_right_command=show-text ${chapter-list} 3000 audio_track_mbtn_right_command=cycle audio down sub_track_mbtn_right_command=cycle sub down |

Sorry I don't know why the 3 lines of text are so large they're normal size in the config file. |

Should work in this case. Can you show your folders and where you put this? You can also run |

My deep apologies, seems to have been a big issue on my end in terms of reading comprehension for the official guide. The official directory to place script-opts into is '/.config/mpv/' (on linux) which is 'C:/Users/ USERNAME /AppData/Roaming/mpv/' (on windows). I tried looking here myself but it wasn't working BECAUSE I had a 'portable_config' in my folder with MPV, so instead I placed script-opts into that portable folder (with the included osc file inside of that script-opts folder) and it worked perfectly. Thank you for your time I hope this helps some other idiot out there. |
