Editor switching to Qwerty (out of the blue)

At some point the 'Editor' of VS code switches to a Qwerty keyboard layout, while the rest of the system and even other parts of vs code (like terminal, shortcut keys, and this Issue reporter) still use the correct keyboard layout (Colemak).

Unfortunattely I can't simulate the problem, it seems to occur randomly. And when it happens it happens in all open editors (and all new ones). But is is limited to a single instance of VS code. The only thing I can do to fix it is to quit the faulty vs code, and reopen it.
