The data that is currently being exchanged between the Arduino and the computer is a utf-8 encoded string based on the peaking level (on an arbitrary scale of 0-50) of the selected audio input device that is parsed into an integer on the arduino.
This limits the amount of visualization effects that can be done on the Arduino side.
Need to find a better data format that could be transmitted, that has more information (eg. audio frequency) but is not too cumbersome (see this issue) for the Arduino.
