FPS Drop in Dying Light with DXVK 2.5.3 #4620
Comments
Hi there and thank you for the issue. |
No I haven't manually switched dxvk version I only changed proton version , first i tried proton 9.0.3 then 9.0.4 and then latest proton 9 experimental - bleeding edge Then I remembered that back in 2.3 dxvk I wasn't facing any issues and I was using proton 8 , so switched back to proton 8.0.5 and fps issue was fixed |
Just played the game for about 3 hours with latest master and it was fine. It's most likely an issue with Proton, as I'm on Wine Staging, and not something dxvk specific. |
Well this problem is on all stable version of proton 9 Only proton version that's working is 8.0.5d with 2.3 dxvk I will try to manually swap dxvk to 2.3 in proton exp and report back |
I've tried for a while to reproduce the issue on either my Arc b580 or my AMD rdna2 iGPU. But have been unable to |
Update : manually swapping dxvk version from 2.5.3 to 2.3.0 in proton experimental fixed all stuttering and fps drops i uploaded another video
also uploaded new proton logs : i will try to manually swap dxvk version to 2.4 and test again until i can find out which dxvk version causes fps drops and stuttering |
DXVK 2.4.1 works without any issues , also uploaded new video and proton logs video link :
|
Does it change anything if you run the game with |
nope here are the logs : from dxvk 2.5 onwards this happens , gonna stick to 2.4.1 with proton 9.0.4 as it fixes my issue for now |
I have encountered a significant FPS drop when using the latest versions of DXVK (2.5.2 and 2.5.3) in Dying Light 1 and its DLCs . In contrast, using Proton 8.0.5, which includes DXVK 2.3 , the FPS remains stable at 60FPS. A video has been uploaded showing the gameplay with both versions of DXVK for a clearer demonstration of the issue.
