Would it be possible to add support for additional particles (deuterons) and higher-order magnetic elements in Cheetah? As you may know, the particle accelerator for IFMIF-DONES is currently optimizing its design . For that, we use OPAL to simulate and we create surrogate models to achieve a differentiable pipeline and apply gradient descent optimization. It would be very nice to have a fully differentiable simulator, like Cheetah.
These extensions would enable a broader range of simulations for researchers working on different accelerators and applications.
Thanks for the great work so far!
