Cannot get auto completion to work

I set let g:ale_completion_enabled = 1 and the default let g:ale_completion_autoimport = 0 is set. I installed tsserver npm install typescript but I am not getting any auto completion popups or anything when I type. I'm not using an autocomplete plugin. Theres not much documentation or images for completion.

Inspect the output of ALEInfo and check if the language server is being started properly. Thre should be some lines like these (python):

I got it to work, not sure what was going wrong.
