Here is a proposed release schedule for v22.0.0, the next major release of Dash Core.

Primary blockers

Misc minor tasks in general release process

2024-11-15

  • Soft Feature freeze (no new ideas, any merged PRs should implement an open issue)
  • Soft translation string freeze (no large or unnecessary string changes until release)
  • Start RC cycle, tag and begin building v22.0.0-rc.1 soon
  • Open Transifex translations for v22 (@UdjinM6)

2024-11-16

  • Release v22.0.0-rc.1

2024-11-16

  • Begin testing v22.0.0-rc.1 on testnet

2024-11-19

  • Hard feature freeze (No new PRs except for release PRs and fixing breaking / non-QOL bugs)
  • Translation string freeze (no more source language changes until release)
  • Begin Release Process
  • Split off v22.0.x branch from develop
  • Start merging for v22.1.x on develop

2024-12-04

  • Ensure that all chainparams are updated
  • Tag and start building v22.0.0

2024-12-09

  • Release v22.0.0 final

2024-12-24

  • EHF (enhanced hard-fork) signal for withdrawals fork has been mined (block 2192864)

2025-01-07, 02:00 am UTC

  • Expected activation date of fork withdrawals (block 2201472)
    This time is an estimation calculated by average block time.

No major blockers at this point. I think we are on track-ish for releasing probably the 10th or 11th, but I'm gonna tell myself the 9th is still possible!
