Disabling e-mail notifications also disables site notifications

Hi

Honestly, only about 90% sure about this, but warrants looking in to. When disabling e-mail notifications in the profile settings it also seems to disable the little bell in the application. I'd still like to get all notifications on the website, just not in my mailbox.
