Describe the bug
Installation with clean Ubuntu fails with ros-$DISTRO-desktop, packages in ros-$DISTRO-desktop-full seem to be required.

To Reproduce

Running colcon build with ros-$DISTRO-desktop installed (i.e. according to official guides for humble and jazzy fails with missing dependancies.

Expected behavior
The build succeeds.

Platform

  • OS: Ubuntu 22,24
  • ROS 2 Version Humble, Jazzy
  • Other information you think might be relevant such as graphic card, drivers etc.

Version
Release: 1.0.0

Additional context
Adding the reuqirement for ros-$DISTRO-desktop-full in the installation documentation could prove sufficient to solve this.
