Hello,

First of all, I'd like to thank MatthewL246 for his work in creating our own Pretendo server. My goal is to create a local server to run Mario Kart 8 LANs.

I've carried out a few tests on the version proposed here, following the documentation to the letter. Everything was installed on a physical machine with a 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM and a Core i7 gen7.

I activated SSSL, added the certificate and the BOSS key. I tested with 2 WiiUs: one without hack and one with.

I created 2 accounts using the 2 WiiUs. It worked well on both. Then the problems started.

-On the Pretendo WEB interface, the Mii avatar was not displayed correctly (no image). I tried Pretendo-Docker a few months ago and it worked then.

  • Adding a friend works fine, but there's a strange behaviour when adding a friend. The display shows a silhouette of a Mii with question marks. For the display to work properly, you need to reboot the Wii.

  • WiiU Chat: sometimes it works and most of the time not. Most of the time the application crashes after an unsuccessful call (even if the user is online) and the WiiU is crashed when exiting the application via the home menu. It give error 106-0301 or 101-0502.

  • Splatoon : not work. When I want to play online I get a message saying ‘to participate online battle, you need to connect to the internet’. I answer ‘receive’ but then its give an error that it can't connect to the server... but the server is running.

  • Minecraft : works.

All tests were performed on the same subnet and on two different subnet --> same result. Unfortunately I'm not very good at Docker and I'm having trouble diagnosing the whole thing. However, I can help with some tests.

Thanks for the information!

On the Pretendo WEB interface, the Mii avatar was not displayed correctly (no image). I tried Pretendo-Docker a few months ago and it worked then.

This is probably because of a certificate error. You should be able to right click where the image should be and open it in a new tab. Then, you can ignore the certificate error (which will ignore future errors for that domain until you close the browser) and reload the account page. Alternatively, check the tip box in the browser connection guide to permanently trust the certificate.

Adding a friend works fine, but there's a strange behaviour when adding a friend. The display shows a silhouette of a Mii with question marks. For the display to work properly, you need to reboot the Wii.

That is strange, I don't remember this happening before. I'll try to look into this.

WiiU Chat: sometimes it works and most of the time not...

That was my experience too when I attempted to make a call between Cemu and my console. I had wondered whether it was just a Cemu issue, but it sounds like the instability is worse than that.

Splatoon : not work. When I want to play online I get a message saying ‘to participate online battle, you need to connect to the internet’. I answer ‘receive’ but then its give an error that it can't connect to the server... but the server is running.

I see you commented in #138, I agree that's probably related.

Unfortunately I'm not very good at Docker and I'm having trouble diagnosing the whole thing.

Thanks for the test results anyway! It is difficult for me as well to tell which issues are errors in my Docker configurations and which are just general Pretendo server issues.
