clear current word when selecting then retyping

Swipe type a word that gets a wrong guess about what you intended (weird instead of word). Press the square select word icon on the keyboard. Now try to swipe the same word again. This usually results in the same word as the first time.
Could be my typing, but it's much less likely if i hit delete before trying again.
