Desktop grid lag/stutter

Greetings!

I recently swapped from Ant-dark theme to Sweet for my KDE and I've noticed significant stutter while switching between different desktops via Desktop gird. Upon further inspection it turns out that this behavior happens only when I have the Plasma style set to "Sweet" (Sweet-mars works find). I've tried to uninstall and reinstall it, and also tested it in a freshly installed kvm system but the stutter is persistent.

The system is:
Distro: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5
KDE Framework Version: 5.98.0
Qt Version: 5.15.6
Kernel Version: 5.15.71-1-lts
Graphics Platform: X11
